Here is Ellie Rowsell who I am posting so I can mention my good friend @wildflagsure who already hasn’t been around much as late because being Greek she had to go on 12 labors. It’s really hard these days because Europe doesn’t even have Lions anymore. Anyway, she quite likes Ellie so that’s a good match. As a friend I assume because they are both girls so what more could it be? I don’t even know how that works. I wish there was a website where a curious person could look but oh well, there aren’t anymore. Antigone, or Mrs. John Cena as her friends call her, first came into my orbit because she was excited I posted Vanessa Bayer. And I was excited because she was the first person to give a fuck that I posted Vanessa Bayer. That might not sound like a big thing but I had a friendship at 5 years old founded on a mutual love of orange soda so lust for Vanessa Bayer seems like at least as solid a foundation. Antigone is a musician and loves music and it’s where a lot of our friendship came from and so Ellie just feels right. Also, Ellie Rowsell is just smoking hot. Today I want to fuck Ellie Rowsell.  

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I hope you guys are all having a good day but I know inevitably you aren’t all having a good time. I get it. Part of why I am having a good one is because I am sitting in my own house full of turkey and stuffing and just watching Football and playing video games. Or I will be when I am done typing. Sometimes that’s the best decision you can make but I am older than I once was and I know sometimes it’s not a choice you get. Some of you have no options and you are stuck with people you might rather not be with. I have been there and you have my deepest sympathy. It can be really hard and really miserable and it’s a crime that family, the thing that should bring you comfort and respite from a world that is all too cruel sometimes provides the exact opposite from someone of this. Just remember if you were strong enough to live to this point you are strong enough to handle this as well. This too shall pass. As always, I will pass along my best advice possible, which is that in your very hand you hold the depth and breadth of human knowledge and art. Get your earbuds or headphones and go on a walk. You can usually get away with a walk to buy yourself some much needed time away from the chaos and I believe rock and roll can save us all. It has for me before. Today I listened to most of the Monk’s Black Monk Time and from there went to Chvches new EP because it was recorded at a famous German studio so going from a protopunk album by a German Garage Rock band to then Hansa Session seemed obvious in my brain. I probably didn’t even need to explain that. From there I listened to some Wham! for the obvious reason that they too are English. Obvious. Anyway, I chose upbeat stuff today because it keeps me walking faster and it’s fun to sorta dance walk, catch yourself, be glad no one you know could have seen you, then continue on. My basic point is I did this today just for fun but there have been times it was my life line. Use it if you need to and know that you are not alone. There are lots of us who understand out there. You’ll get through this weekend and one day you won’t even need to deal with it. I have a lot to be thankful for this year and my life is doing pretty well at the moment, so thank you for those of you who are a part of said life, you mean the world to me. I am posting Lauren Mayberry because she’s frankly the best looking one of the people I listened to today. Hey guys, here is Taylor Swfit because you know me, I love to post obscure celebrities sometimes. I think her Australian Tour is over but I don’t know if that means there is more of it or it’s all done or what. Maybe the moon next? It seems like Taylor Swift can probably go anywhere and people would come and see her because I have this theory that people love Taylor Swift and she’s an immensely popular artist. I don’t have proof yet but you know, like or reblog this post if you think I’m right so I can prove to my dad that Taylor Swift is popular? I can’t remember how those text posts used to go. I don’t actually have anything interesting to say here, it was more that she is good looking and boy are there are lot of pictures of her over the years and so I was kind of just digging through and finding stuff I liked. Here is Ellie Rowsell cause I haven’t posted her in a while and I think Ellie Rowsell is really hot. Wolf Alice has won a Mercury Prize since I last posted her but I don’t know if that has changed anything at all. Like, I tend to imagine most of my followers are in the, “Who?” category still and those who know who Ellie Rowsell is already knew who she was before she won a British award for being good at music. But I am curious. That’s not why I am posting her. Again, I am posting her cause she’s hot. But I am curious as to the reaction. Today I want to fuck Ellie Rowsell.

About a week ago Sonakshi Sinha wore a gown to the Indian GQ Men of the Year awards that I was a big fan. It was shiny. I really liked the cut and I shared it with my dear friend @thunderstormofoblivion who told me, “Of course you love it, she looks like a fucking disco ball”. Which in fairness she did. I get that that is a thing for me. A woman dressed like a disco ball. The point of this story is I know I posted Taylor Swift on Monday and here I am posting her again because she is really putting a lot of effort into making me happy this week. It’s greatly appreciated. Kind of out of the blue but I won’t complain. She looked great at the AMAs last night. Even the boots matched. I am down and I am still thankful for her Sunday post. And legit, fuck everyone criticizing it, left and right. I am reading your articles, you guys are having to bend over backwards to be offended. Bite me. Back to her dress. Last night at 7:30 I knew who I was going to post today because Taylor Swift did something that moved me. I am an American. I am quite proud of that fact. I am a product and citizen of the great experiment formed by a group of people driven by humanist enlightenment thought and the end point of a legacy of ever expanding liberalism. The ideas that all men are created equal. There have been missteps along the way but I genuinely believe the world is a better place because of it. Much of Western history since has been driven by Enlightenment ideals and the idea of man’s right to self determination. That has been under attack in recent years in a way I thought I would never see again. I remember the fall of communism and the collective sigh of relief. Authoritarianism wasn’t extinguished completely but we were moving that way. Things have gotten ugly. Not just in my country but around the world as we have seen people seem to genuinely consider that perhaps Democracy is not that important. It is. My country has done things I am not proud of. Things that frighten me. I staunchly believe it is not who we are. I believe most Americans are good people. But I believe our talk is dominated by the insincere. People who are maliciously willing to tear us and our values apart to enrich themselves. War is good for the wallet, especially when it’s ideological. I have long been critical of Taylor Swift for saying nothing. I know many will congratulate her for taking a stance they agree with. I agree with everything she said. I am impressed she took a stance period. I think it is important to speak your convictions to drown out those who don’t even believe most of what they say but know someone will. I am certain there is already a gnashing of the teeth out there because it’s the world we live in now. But it doesn’t have to be and Taylor’s post was excellent at demonstrating this. She might have given the most apolitical political endorsement I have ever seen. Parties were not mentioned. Simply the issues she finds important and why she finds them important. Statements, that at least in public, everyone endorses. Respect and dignity for our fellow man, no matter what he looks like, what gender her or she is, what sexual orientation. That no one should suffer because they were not born into a preapproved group. Then she asked people to educate themselves and vote their convictions. This is all I want and all I can ask of anyone. I know some people only want to see their side endorsed or their side encouraged. I don’t mind if someone disagrees. Someone who genuinely wants what is right and is voting by their convictions can be reasonable. They can be talked to. They can be convinced. I grew up in a world where gay marriage wasn’t even a term. If it had been the 13 year old me probably would have been against it. Certainly my parents would have been. They are not anymore. Because for all their flaws as people they are not evil. Discussion, enlightenment. It has changed views. It’s a long game but voting matters. Learning who you are voting for and what matters is important. I was thrilled to see Taylor Swift had taken a stance because it is important that she spoke to her convictions whatever they are. I am thrilled at the way she asked people to vote, the way she encouraged them to think. It gives me hope and it’s a wonderful thing. It has been said that the present state of this country does not represent who we really are as a people. It is time we prove it. Today I want to fuck Taylor Swift.

Hey guys it’s summer and not much is going on but that’s nice when my mind can just wander and not be too influenced by mass media. Well, sorta. I am posting a celebrity because I like her music but it feel more natural. There hasn’t been a push. I posted Jenny Lewis yesterday and that sent me down a record hole where I listened to a bunch of stuff and eventually I ended up on Angel Olsen and I am posting her. Today is easily my worst Angel Olsen post ever. Just pointing that out. This is the third time I have posted her and in the past I posted her on Thanksgiving because it just felt right each time and those are better. I have very little interesting to say today other than I really like her music and really hope to catch her on tour soonish. Today I want to fuck Angel Olsen.

I am posting Jenny Lewis because I had a discussion just yesterday about what the best songs of the past 20 years are that were written by women. It was a long and meandering thing (and for the record I think I settled on Royals being #1. It’s pretty impressive). But Jenny Lewis came up as did Rilo Kiley and it included a lot of things like how her solo work is different than her Rilo Kiley stuff was. I think you could argue Just One of the Guys is her best song ever in terms of writing but I probably still prefer Rilo Kiley because I think sad girl music is just so rare. The world is full of sad bastards and somehow we declare them geniuses because they are men who are sad but sad girl stuff is much more under represented. I think I have probably gone into this before when writing about Lana Del Rey since I think at it’s core that’s why she connected with so many people despite never quite being as mainstream popular as it seemed like she was poised to be. Anyway, I was thinking about Jenny Lewis’ song writing and also the fact that she has been a celebrity that has played a semi important part in my life since I was like 10 years old or something. Which is kind of crazy. I love Jenny Lewis. She’s so Bad. Today I want to fuck Jenny Lewis.

So Taylor Swift interviewed Pattie Boyd for Harper’s Bazaar and this is all kinds of confusing and out of the blue but I am not even the least bit upset about it. It’s great. Patty Boyd is one of the most important people in rock history who never made music. For those who aren’t in the know, she was a model of some renown who became a photographer of great renown who then became the wife of a Beatle and the object desire of a guitar god and then the wife of that guitar god. There is a whole messy love triangle between her and George Harrison and Eric Clapton that has inspired some truly great art. I even put on Layla as I wrote this because why wouldn’t I? Anyway, rock icon aside, I in no way have thought at any point, “What does Taylor Swift think of Pattie Boyd”? It turns out she’s a big fan. I am glad. I think it could be exciting if an entire generation of people read Wonderful Today as a result. Either way, it is both bizarre and pretty cool that this happened. On top of that Taylor posed for some very classic 60’s style stuff and boy does that suit her. It’s not surprising, the secret of posing in looks of past decades is we’ve had literal years to filter away the garbage. You get to just choose the best stuff. Also, Taylor just does that kind of thing well. So I am posting her because it made me oddly happy to wake up to a Harper’s Bazaar with Pattie Boyd being interviewed by Taylor Swift and Taylor looks really good in the pictures. Today I want to fuck Taylor Swift.

How about some Lauren Mayberry cause… I dunno, music guys? We all like music right? Hey, sometimes I don’t have the most complex reasons. I feel like I just posted her but it’s been a month, which is both a while but also not really that long. That happens sometimes, this blog feeds on itself and because I post someone they pop into my thoughts more. Some of it is also probably confirmation bias, I notice other posts more and so on and so on. It’s ok, she’s very easy to look at and easy to listen to so I am just embracing it.
