Here is Charli XCX who is currently winning Coachella by well, being kind of a big music nerd. She spent a lot of time yesterday posting videos of herself alone dancing to music because her friends all went out to do other things. She looked good, she is fun, I enjoyed it. I am also losing at sleep still, almost as badly as she is winning at Coachella so I don’t have a lot else to say. So I made some gifs and am posting her. Enjoy. Today I want to fuck Charli XCX.

Here is some Charli XCX because why not. I mean, I know at least one of you has a reason why not because it does annoy one of my friends when I post Charli. But to the rest of you I say why not. I have no particular reason aside from finding Charli XCX extremely attractive mixed with being slightly out of it this morning because a scam telephone call woke me up at 6:30. Who starts scamming people at 6:30 in the morning? Anyway, I think Charli XCX is stupid hot and ridiculously talented and what I really like is that she loves music. Which seems obvious but I mean in a way my friends and I that worked at a record store loved music. You would seek out new things, you would desperately want to share it with people when you found something awesome. I remember at some point in the late 90’s this guy I worked with just grabbed a random album because the cover was cool and on the back someone was credited as a zanzithophone player. No one had any clue what the zanzithophone was (later we found out it was a very short run musical instrument from Casio in the 1980’s that had a lot of major flaws, including no where for the spit to go when you were blowing into it so eventually they would sort of implode because they were electronic and would be filled with spit). Anyway, he came in the next day, shoved a copy in my hands and said I had to buy it. I did the same to others. That album was the classic In the Aeroplane Over the Sea. It was tremendous and I love knowing about it and I had a need to share. So Charli XCX feels like that kind of music fan. She made a long post here on tumblr just a couple of weeks ago with a list of female musicians she thinks everyone needs to hear. I have gone through it. Some of the I knew. Some of them I didn’t. Some of them are tremendous. Her radio show for Apple is similar, she seems to spend all her time trying to get people to hear music she thinks is great and is horrified more people don’t know. This is basically never her music. That’s a pretty big rarity among celebrity, spending all your time promoting someone else because you just love it and want others to know about it. I have seen it said she is too generous to be a successful pop star. But I love it. I imagine maybe somewhere deep down it was why I was drawn to her from the word go, the second I became aware of her I was into her. So today I want to fuck Charli XCX.

You can be forgiven if you didn’t know I like Charli XCX because it’s been almost 3 months since I last posted her and that is basically the longest I have ever gone without posting her since she first appeared on this blog. It’s a really long time. It wasn’t intentional. So much exciting is happening too. I am jealous of everyone who got to see her Pop 2 stuff but understand why that can’t hit the road. I guess Taylor Swift fans will get to under appreciate her because that is the perpetual fate of opening acts. People jingling car keys in their pockets and wondering who that is on stage. What a waste. Anyway, I adore Charli and spent a good bit of last night listening to True Romance era stuff. It is interesting how different and yet how her it is. I adore Charli, I feel like those who know me know that and I have loved her evolution that allows for older stuff I love and markedly different new stuff I still love. So here is a mix of old and new pictures because it felt thematically resonant. Today I want to fuck Charli XCX.

So Charli XCX was on the Love Advent yesterday and it came out just as I was posting and boy, if it had hit earlier she would have been here yesterday. I haven’t been a huge fan of this year’s Love Advent but in general I am never huge on it. It seems strange but they get so many women I like that one or two sucks me in. Some people might be surprised that this advent is still going on but it’s like the douchiest, creepiest mall Santa says when he’s hitting on some teenager working at hot dog on a stick, “It’s Christmas somewhere”. Or they are just being inclusive because for some people Christmas still isn’t until Sunday. I legitimately don’t know if that is really it or if they are just milking it. Anyway, Charli XCX looked exceptionally hot and it had a New Years feel to me so I am posting her. It’s appropriate to help start your year and I am doing a real service here. Mainly though the scorching hotness. If I’m being honest. That’s most of it. Today I want to fuck Charli XCX.

I hope everyone survived the Holiday! I guess if you didn’t you aren’t reading this. For those who enjoyed it great, for those who didn’t I hope you enjoy this week at least. I know at a lot of jobs it is a nice slow week, so enjoy that, use it to catch up or just chill or whatever. I guess if it was a miserable Christmas and this week sucks at your job I’m sorry. Life just dumps on some people. I am looking forward to a generally slow and relaxing week. I am posting Charli XCX today because she has been loading up her instagram with thankful posts about all the things she feels lucky to have experienced this week. It is nice to see and nice to see someone in a good place. I am not telling you if you are unhappy that you should take comfort in this or that. I have never really taken comfort in the fact that it could be worse. I am saying that if you sit and think about the positives around you though it can help some. Or not, it’s your life. Do what you want. I like Charli though and am glad to see her happy and perhaps finding a way to define success on her own terms. I also find her very attractive. Today I want to fuck Charli XCX.

So when I was a kid there was a gold rush in the music industry after Nirvana surprisingly became the biggest band in the world.  The result was them trying to sing every underground band in the country to a deal in the hopes of creating the next Nirvana.  Besides the overall missing the point of what made Nirvana popular, it betrayed some gross aspects of the music industry.  I grew up in DC where music legends Fugazi hail from.  They were on (and still are) on Discord records.  This is because they founded the label.  Fugazi being legendary and descending from legendary Hardcore acts were targeted by major labels.  Fugazi always said now.  So what was the next step?  The labels would call Discord records in an attempt to buy out either the label or Fugazi’s contract.  You know, to give the band that just said they don’t want to work with you no choice.  To legally force them to work for you.  In this case hilariously they would get the same person they just talked to who would laugh in their face.  But it betrays a basic aspect of the music industry that is important to remember.  Not only do they not care about music, they don’t care about the artists and don’t even see them as people.  They see them as commodities to be bought and sold.  I point this out because Charli XCX has announced another mix tape.  It seems kind of exciting but why are we getting another mix tape when she has had an album done for over a year?  Because music labels are the devil and need to die.  She like others has found a loophole to get some music out there, even if it isn’t the music she wants out there but legally she’s stuck otherwise.  Somehow in this industry she isn’t free to go to another label that would put out her music.  When they sign you to the classic 7 record deal a label has the right to just never put out your albums.  And you are not allowed to make music then.  Just kind of the end of it.  Thank god for the internet because 20 years ago you were just forced to fade into obscurity.  So what is my basic point here?  I dunno, I am kind of tired and I adore Charli XCX and if the entire music industry burned to the ground I wouldn’t shed a single tear.  It’s a bunch of people exploiting art and making it worse for all of us. They damage the artists we love, they hurt our ability to get the music we love. Somehow small labels manage to survive and make money without being dicks, which tells me being a dick isn’t a necessary business practice, it’s just a side effect of being run by a collection of dicks.  So I am posting to bitch but also because I do love Charli XCX.  Also she was at the GQ Men of the year awards. So new song, new Mix Tape announced, and at an event.  This is the kind of timely and releveant post I make.  Today I want to fuck Charli XCX.

Here’s some Charli XCX because it’s a day that ends in a y and I happen to like her a lot.  That’s basically it.  I don’t think there was like… a thing with her or anything this weekend.  Actually it was kind of a slow weekend so I feel like I can be forgiven for defaulting to one of my favorites.  Besides, she dressed as Barbarella for Halloween, which is pretty clearly for me.  If you know me you know it’s ridiculous how much that is for me.  If you don’t know me just take my word for it.  I really have no reason to lie about this, like I am not lying about being way into Barbarella to seem cool.  Not that I wouldn’t lie to all of you to seem cool, I just like to think I’d come up with a much more effective lie than that.  Anyway, Charli is great and let me look… nope, no new album yet.  But hey, another new song this past week that she wrote for someone else but is still basically her song.  That’s fun.  Today I want to fuck Charli XCX.

I am posting Charli XCX today because I like Charli XCX.  The simple truth is I often don’t need much of a reason to post her.  I don’t have much of a reason. I had some other ideas for posts in the early hours of this morning but they have all melted away and only Charli is left.  It happens sometimes.  Again, my only reason for posting her is that I really like Charli XCX.  that’s about it.  So today I want to fuck Charli XCX.
