So I watched this movie called Faults last night.  The name sounded familiar, Netflix thought I would like it and… I did like it and it sounded familiar because it had Mary Elizabeth Winstead in it (and is the directorial debut of her husband).  The movie was not perfect but I liked it a lot and it featured two great performances, which frankly is more than I get from most of the garbage I watch, so the fact that the movie as a whole was good is a real bonus.  One of the real treats of following Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s career over the past few years is that even when the movies she has made aren’t perfect I can be certain to get a fascinating performance fro her. It also has been extremely varied, this time she managed to be enigmatic and … weird but not int he overt typical “weird” Hollywood goes for.  She was also fascinating and compelling.  All that would be enough to make me want to post her.  The fact that I consider her to be one of the most beautiful people on the planet is a nice little bonus.  Today I want to fuck Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

Ok, first things first everyone should welcome celeb-crush-otd to tumblr by following the blog.  I have long said that if you start a blog like this, you know, daily posting of a celebrity who you like for whatever reason I will promote you (fun fact, after about a month of this blog I did find myself wishing I had gone with Who I am Crushing on Today or something like that because you know, I think the fuck frightens people).  So welcome Celeb Crush of the day to the mix.  Now we really need some girls to step up and start ones about guys or whatever they might like.  There was one for a week.  Anyway, I am promoing this new blog even though it wasn’t asked for because I am always excited to see new ones.  That has very little to do with Mary Elizabeth Winstead though other than she is mega crush worthy.  You may or may not know this about me but I kind of rank her among my top celebrity crushes over time and certainly my favorite at her level of fame which is probably best described as “not very famous but should be way more famous because she’s really good”.  I like her enough that I even sit through the rising tide of people trying to convince me the Black Christmas remake is actually a misjudged classic.  I mean, they don’t convince me because sorry guys, that movie was terrible.  How do you get a collection of likable actresses and make me despise them all?  It was garbage then and it’s garbage now.  Though yes, I’ll admit, the color pallet is refreshing for a horror movie.  Anyway, she is showing up now for awards season get togethers and TCAs and stuff and I am glad because she is gorgeous.  And she’ll be on a TV show again and I am hoping it launches her to the mega stardom she deserves.  Also you know, more of her is nice because she is beautiful.  So beautiful.  Today I want to fuck Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead is one of my all time celebrity crushes.  Feels like she always has been and given that this crush has existed longer than tumblr has existed I guess it would feel that way.  She doesn’t show up as much as other girls I would say I have had or have massive celebrity crushes on.  This is almost 100% a reflection on the fact that she isn’t as famous as them so pictures of her are harder to come by.  Also she just doesn’t show up in my life as often.  there are fewer blogs about her, there are fewer photos of her, she doesn’t get talked about and so on.  It’s a shame because frankly the world is missing out.  She is just gorgeous and talented.  Today I want to fuck Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

I was thinking about voice recognition software and how jaded we are.  When I was still in college I had a professor who was really proud of some voice recognition software he’d gotten.  He got a headset on, sat down at his computer and started talking to it.  It fucking sucked.  It got maybe one out of three words right and it became clear he was never going to dictate the great American Novel to his computer using this.  Now we can talk into our phones, which are tiny computer we carry around, and our phone will talk back and tell us where the closest place is to get a haircut or a danish or whatever.  This should be mind blowing because when I was like 10, my dad got a Sony Watchman which was a tiny ass TV and my friends and I thought it was so fucking space age you wouldn’t believe it.  It had a smaller screen than my phone but weighed a ton and was black and white.  The exceptional becomes so commonplace sometimes that we forget how exceptional it is.  Not that I think things would be better if every time someone pulled out their phone they shouted, “HOLY SHIT, THE FUTURE IS NOW” but you know, we’re jaded.  What does this have to do with Mary Elizabeth Winstead?  Well, I happen to think she is ridiculously gorgeous and I am not suffering from over exposure to her but at the same time I think I forget how beautiful she is because I am used to it.  Because she always looks beautiful.  Seriously, she is one of those people who is just breathtaking.  So I am going to take a step back and reevaluate to that I am not taking her for granted.  Ahem… HOLY SHIT, MARY ELIZABETH WINSTEAD IS BEAUTIFUL. There, done.  Today I want to fuck Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

So Mary Elizabeth Winstead has an album coming out very soon but I just have not had time to listen to any of it so far except for the one song they had a video for.  I liked it, I really enjoy her voice.  That isn’t why she’s here, she’s here because I was talking about her the other day.  Honestly she is one of those people I wish I could post more often but sadly she just doesn’t show up often enough.  There are rarely new pictures of her because she has never become the gigantic star I think she should.  Besides being just breathtakingly beautiful she is also a very good actress.   I actually haven’t seen a single thing this year with her in it though because you know, the things she’s been in have only been at film festivals.  Oh well, we had Smashed last year and that was amazing.  Anyway, she is another one of those people who how many times I have posted her is disproportionately low compared to how great she is, it’s just a factor of how my attention works.  She is great though and today I want to fuck Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

You may not know this about me but if you’ve been following me a long time you might know, I think Mary Elizabeth Winstead is one of the most beautiful people on the planet.  It is just one of those things where I remember the first time I saw her and it was a, “Who is that girl?” moment.  I was blown away.  As a result I have seen Final Destination 3 way more than anyone should have.  Of course, it also turned out she’s a damn fine actress as well.  Unfortunately, she is not a big deal actress so new pictures of her don’t pop up that often.  I even subscribe to the RSS feed of one of those fan sties that litter Google searches and it only has news about her once a month or so.  It is a shame because I feel like the world is missing out, she’s so good, more people should see Smashed.  More people should see her in things, she should be in bigger things.  But on the other hand we get so possessive of our little crushes that I kind of like that most people don’t know her.  Well, except Scott Pilgrim fans.  They love her.  I can’t blame them.  That’s where all the notes for this will come from.  Anyway, today I want to fuck Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

I think Mary Elizabeth Winstead is beautiful.  I guess that is the first thing and not really a secret, my praise of her here has been effusive, I know.  I also am a fan of hers.  I know this not just because I feel strangely possessive and protective of her but because I thrill in her success.  I guess because when I first noticed her it felt like I was the only one in the world who had.  That happens sometimes.  So I am always hoping for her career to somehow transcend to the next level.  Lord knows what that is or if it matters but I think we always want our favorite team to win, such as it were.  I just watched Smashed, which I had been meaning to see forever.  It was, obviously, not a sexy movie but it was good.  I liked it a lot.  She was wonderful in it.  I guess that goes without saying since the movie is pretty much 90% her.  So she’s here because I loved the performance and the movie.  And well because she is beautiful.  And because today I want to fuck Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
