So the X-men have been around for 50 years now, which makes me feel pretty old because I very clearly remember the big deal about the X-Men’s 25th anniversary. In those days Mystique and the former Brotherhood of Evil Mutants were working for the government as Freedom Force. Which isn’t that important but even then I found her attractive. And not for the obvious reasons, which is that she’s a shape shifter. So she can look like anything you or she wants to look like. Like that seems obvious as like the ultimate woman when it comes to strictly sexual fantasy right? But I like the blue skin and yellow eyes and red hair. It’s striking. It’s attractive. I think it is way more than that though, because it is just ink on paper when we’re talking about comics. They all look good. They’re drawn that way. In her case she represents something older than she is, the classic Femme Fatale. Comics has had a lot of these over the years but frankly a lot of them are done poorly. Say what you want about Claremont’s writing, he could write a strong woman. Mystique leaves an impression because she is confident, she is smart, she is calm, she is calculating. She didn’t have Magneto’s raw power but she made an excellent successor as the leader of the Brotherhood. She was an A list villain back in the day and did it all through cunning and strength of character. She was awesome. And yes she was attractive and part of that has to be the danger and knowing it’s a bad idea. Anyway, today I want to fuck Mystique.
