Mary Elizabeth Winstead was at the Suspiria premier last night and honestly I had no clue she was associated with it. I mean, she may not be at all still, I was just surprised to see her there. I am fascinated by the remake because any remake feels like you are fighting an uphill battle but this one is just so fascinating. The original Suspiria is a cult classic and among the most beautiful things ever committed to film. It’s also a mess and makes no sense and there is barely even a plot to speak of. So on one hand it seems like it would be easy to construct a better story. On the other hand it seems like you’ll never top Argento’s visuals. I guess it feels like you’ll always be compared to something else which doesn’t seem fun. But hey, if you were trying to get me on board, having Mary Elizabeth Winstead show up on the red carpet goes a long way towards that. Part of me wants to make a joke about how that’s how you top Argento’s visuals but it made me uncomfortable, so I didn’t. She looked nice though. I wish she was still doing horror movies. Today I want to fuck Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
