I was listening to WTF (don’t worry, this isn’t an entry about Marc Maron.  Not that he’s not fuckable if that’s your thing, he’s intelligent and funny but… it’s my tumblr, not yours, start your own about wanting to nail Marc Maron) and Fiona Apple was on.  I quite like Fiona Apple but she has never made an appearance here before, probably because it’s so easy to forget about an artist who didn’t tour for years and puts out albums in 6 year intervals.  But I like her music and I like her.  I clearly remember when I first saw her, I was up late in my dorm and she was on 120 Minutes performing Shadow Boxer.  There is no word in that sentence that doesn’t date me at this point, 120 minutes is so 90’s, Shadow Boxer was released in I think 1996, and music on MTV, how absurd!  I was pretty immediately smitten though, here was this cute girl my age who was pleasant but kind of shy and then WOW, her voice.  What a voice and coming out of such a tiny girl.  It was amazing.  Anyway, that was my introduction to Fiona Apple and I have always liked her but until she comes up on shuffle it’s pretty easy to forget about her but now I have remembered, remembered that today I want to fuck Fiona Apple.
