Often when I share pictures with people or talk about them the favorites people have are the faux pin up style stuff almost everyone seems to have shot at some point.  Yesterday I saw some new pictures of Holly Willoughby and I said I liked them because they had a slight retro feel to them I liked.  I am not sure why so many of us are drawn to this sort of thing, or rather why we as humans feels so nostalgic for a time that never really existed.  We as a species have seemingly always longed for a time that passed that was better, more idealized.  Some of these times flat out never existed, after all, think about how much fiction is set in a world where things were once better than they are now, a gleaming city on the hill where things were perfect.  Be it Camelot or Rome, a large part of our culture has always longed for a simpler day when things were just better, the rose colored glasses of nostalgia allows some people to be sentimental for the 50’s, imagining a safer time without strife or people who disagreed with you, never stopping to think about the people who were discriminated against or outright hunted down by agents of conformity.  I don’t believe most people who watch Leave it to Beaver and sigh wistfully hate black people or even think about them, I think they simply like one aspect of the ideal and have built and unreality around it.  Which brings me to celebrities and retro pictures, it’s kind of the same thing, fantasizing about a celebrity.  It isn’t just the beauty of them that is always a little better on celluloid than in reality, it’s the everything, an idealized world we can make for our self, people without faults, at least without real faults, perhaps cute quirks.  Of course, I think this is ok, as long as you don’t delude yourself or find reality can never match the expectations of your fantasy world it’s ok to have an ideal, a platonic form to strive for, if nothing else it can make life more pleasant and give you hope.  Which is a long way of saying I liked the new pictures, the first one is from the set, Holly Willoughby is pretty and in this case I am simply using her to represent more, as we all do sometimes.  We all want more, we all want something wonderful and nothing I post here will ever really be it but sometimes it’s ok to just have a stand in for the day to make your day a little more pleasant.  That’s what i want today.  Today I want to fuck Holly Willoughby.
