I was talking to a friend a couple of weeks ago now about Katy Perry and she said something about how her favorite pictures of her are the ones where she seems playful.  And I kind of agreed and said something about her confidence but the playful thing stuck with me.  It stuck with me because I often try to kind of dissect why she does things that should be ridiculous but end up being sexy.  Or attractive.  Or whatever, the reaction to Katy Perry wearing riding a giant horse on stage isn’t typically an eye roll.  And the playful comment stuck with me because I think that is a big factor.  It could very well all be an act, a bit of calculation, but if it is then she is very good at selling it because it is playful.  She very much seems to be having fun.  So yeah, she is confident and she owns it but the fact that she always seems to be having the time of her life is also attractive.  It’s infectious.  It’s something that takes some people years to learn, being a dour kill joy doesn’t make you deep and it doesn’t make you fun to be around, someone who seems to be doing what they want and loving it?  Most people are drawn to that.  So Katy Perry seems to dress in cat costumes or fireworks dresses or whatever for no reason more than it is a lot of fun to wear crazy costumes.  And that is the best reason to do something like that. It also clearly registers with a lot of people because one or two people seem to like her.  I like her.  Today I want to fuck Katy Perry.
