Some of it is also probably confirmation bias, I notice other posts more and so on and so on. It’s ok, she’s very easy to look at and easy to listen to so I am just embracing it. Here is Daisy Ridley because it always feels like a good day to post her to me. I haven’t like, rewatched any Star Wars stuff this week or anything but I am basically always thinking about Star Wars in some way. And she popped into my head. Because she is great. Priyanka Chopra was in Maxim India and looked great so I am posting her. It’s pretty simple math there. I happen to find her extremely attractive, a fact that has come up once or twice on this blog over the years. I have nothing interesting to say here because I stopped watching Quantico after the first season and now the world has stopped watching it. So Natalie Dormer was at Wimbledon and it immediately brought to mind this old quote from Catch Me if You Can, “Why do the Yankees always win? Because the other team can’t keep their eyes off the pinstripes”. Now, there are some holes in this theory because how the fuck would you explain the Cubs for 100 years but I get the general thrust. A con man is saying it and the point holds a lot of validity, people can be easily dazzled and if they think you’re a winner than you’re a winner. The Yankees win cause they’re the Yankees. And I thought of that and I then thought maybe Natalie Dormer shouldn’t be allowed to wear pinstripes. Like, it could make her dangerously powerful. She’s already a living example of what happens if you are made of confidence, you mix that crooked smile with pinstripes and I can only think of it making her unstoppable. Like, take over the world unstoppable. I mean, it could be weeks of us laboring in her salt mines before it dawns on us, “Wait, why did we agree to this?” It just seems almost too dangerous to give that level of dazzle to someone who is already confident enough to convince you of anything face to face already. Dangerous. That’s all I’ll say though because I don’t want to be on record against the Overlord’s regime if it does come to pass. She looked good. I liked the suit. Today I want to fuck Natalie Dormer.

It’s important to always keep in your heart and on your mind and look around to see if we are still falling short today. It is a guiding principle and a standard we should never fall short of. If you’re not an American I still hope it’s good but I am imagining fewer hot dogs, hamburgers and fireworks in your day. But hey, I have no problem if you choose to indulge in those things today. I am posting Lili Reinhart because she was in Harper’s Bazaar and looked really good. On top of that, there are few things that feel more American to me than Archie Comics and Betty and Veronica. Your mileage may vary but the comics were ubiquitous in my childhood. I didn’t know anyone who was intensely a fan of the comics but I also didn’t know anyone who hadn’t read a bunch at some point and wasn’t familiar with it. Art can serve multiple roles in our world. Sometimes it is aspirational, sometimes it is critical, and sometimes like with Archie it serves as a window into how we see ourselves. Betty Cooper is a deeply decent and good person in the comics and even on Riverdale from what I have seen, though I fell off in season 2. Either way, the world of Archie paints American kids as good and decent people for the most part. It is how we tend to see ourselves and again, we should ask ourselves if we are falling short or not. Is the world functioning the way we think it should? Well, anyway, Lili Reinhart is pretty. And an American. So take that King George. You can suck it with our pretty girls and hot dogs and what not. Here is Pixie Lott cause she was at a show at Paris Fashion Week and she looked quite good on account of that being her thing in general. Looking good. Also she’s here because it’s my friends @wildflagsure birthday and she thinks Pixie Lott is almost as attractive as a body slam, which might seem like a weird turn of phrase but I am not having a stroke, she just is really into professional wrestling. So any time Karen Gillan shows up somewhere I am pretty much going to post her. There are two factors at play here. The first is I really like Karen Gillan. She is both very attractive and very funny and I have just always found her charming. Maybe it’s her innate Scottishness, but there is a way about her that somehow sets her apart (joke about Irn Bru here? I’m not that great at this). The other is that she is also a rare treat. It’s better than it used to be now that she’s part of the Marvel Empire but still, it isn’t like a lot of celebrities where you can expect some huge wave of attention every time she’s in something. I mean, my phone called Thanos and the No Good, Very Bad Day a Karen Gillan movie but the people promoting it didn’t see it that way. So it means I am more likely to pounce. Yet I didn’t this past week. She was at the Ant-Man and Wasp premier and I almost posted her but then didn’t. Because that happens. And yet all week Karen Gillan was in the back of my mind. So I am posting her today. Cause she’s great. Today I want to fuck Karen Gillan.

I know I just posted Emma Watson the other day but wow… you guys really like Emma Watson. I mean, I am sure this is breaking news. The girl who plays (I assume, I have not seen the films) one the female protagonist who is both admirable and laudable in many ways in the defining series of movies for an entire generation is going to have some admirers. We had Princess Leia when I was a kid. So I get it. There are no doubt legions of girls who wanted to be her and legions of boys for whom she was their first crush. And no doubt a smaller legion of boys who wanted to be her and a smaller legion of girls for whom she was their first crush. That’s powerful stuff. I guess it makes her the Carrie Fisher for a younger generation. Just with (and again, as far as I know, I haven’t seen the films and I do not know her personally) far less cocaine and not nearly so foul a mouth. So my generation wins is what I am saying but she is pretty good, too. As far as I can tell (And I do read the news) she has done an admirable job of being someone to look up to when that’s a tough burden to ask someone to choose at 10 years old. So I get it. Millennials love Emma Watson like she was avocados and crushing school debt mixed together. She’s all your favorite stuff. But my last post got an astonishing number of people reaching out to just comment on Emma Watson. Most common questions were, “Have you posted her before?” and “Dude, have you seen thing X she’s so hot”. The answers are: Yes, today is the 10th time actually, and No, most likely not. Anyway, in my perpetual performance art project to show us that we live in a feedback loop where we can’t see past our own reflection, she is here today because she was so popular that I have been talking to people about her for days including last night and hey, here she is. It doesn’t hurt that whatever your feeling on like… fuck, I dunno, Muggles, that’s some bullshit you guys like to say that I don’t know what it means but it sure sounds like a slur to me, whatever your feeling on wizards and shit, she takes a very good picture. So it turns out it isn’t hard at all to talk myself into posting her once I go looking. Today I want to fuck Emma Watson.

Go Glow hit Netflix yesterday and I have watched like half of it. It was great. The show was just a beautiful mess in it’s second season. Which sounds like faint praise or maybe an insult but it wasn’t. It’s more like I am sure some people will feel like it should have been more soundly structured or a little tighter but to me that is a part of the charm. The show is funny and touching and just kind of hard for me to describe. It’s not high drama but I care deeply about the characters. It skillfully addresses a lot of things, perhaps more often and most importantly woman trying to operate in a space dominated by men. But it’s more than anything that it just feels… right somehow. I don’t know. It’s a comedy. Mostly. Though most of my laughs are not belly laughs yet I adore every second of it. It makes me care about the characters more than a lot of dramas do. I think part of that is what TV does well when it does well. You can start with stock characters and flesh them out in a way very few other mediums can (serialized comics are about the only other thing I can think of that has this chance and even that is different). Like, to the degree I almost posted Kate Nash today because even scene where she is just in the background you know she is going to be doing something delightful and it really informs her character. But I am going with Betty Gilpin because I last year I watched the first season in two days and thus ran out of time to post everyone. And she deserves praise because she has a thankless role in a lot of ways. She isn’t a very likable character. She isn’t bad or mean she’s just almost… it’s hard to root for someone who is so obviously gifted by the luck of genetics. Maybe it’s different for other people but as annoying as I could see Ruth being, it’s hard for me to root for Debbie over her. And they aren’t enemies but they are antagonists more often than not. It’s rich and layered and it’s impressive how Gilpin pulls off someone who this season felt more and more like a villain at some points. Anyway, if you haven’t watched GLOW before you should check it out. Like, I like it and I am not a wrestling person. Maybe the best recommendation I can give is that I know multiple women who watched the show and it became one of their favorite shows ever. My friend Katherine gave it the highest praise and surprised me the most. She watched it because I praised it and I think watched it all in one night. Maybe two. But returned to tell me it is her favorite thing ever. And on paper there is nothing about a wrestling show that should be for her. So that’s high praise. Today I want to fuck Betty Gilpin.
