So Kristen Bell was at, maybe still is at, the D23 Expo and I won’t lie, my first reaction was Christ, another event celebrating nonsense?  I mean, glass houses and all, I run a pop culture blog here, after a fashion, but that was my reaction.  And it’s not that Disney isn’t somehow deserving of it’s own convention but it’s starting to feel like the old thing people used to say, where if more than two people are into something there is a magazine about it.  And I don’t really begrudge that but so much of it starts to feel redundant and I am like, isn’t there anything else?  I guess I feel that way because I truly love Star Wars but like… there was just Star Wars celebration.  Now there is Star Wars stuff going on here because it’s a Disney property now and I feel like I was hearing Star Wars news from E3 and maybe I just feel like it’s double dipping.  It’s a strange thing to care about but apparently this week I have become an old crank.  Oh well.  Kristen Bell looked lovely though and I love her.  She is amazing and the best and I did really like Frozen so hey, maybe Frozen 2 will be awesome, too.  I don’t know, Disney actually doesn’t have a lot of sequel experience.  Unless you could the 90’s.  Which, honestly, if they want confidence in Frozen 2 they should hope we all forgot.  But I have my fingers crossed.  Today I want to fuck Kristen Bell.

Charli XCX was at the BBC and there were pictures and hey, that’s enough of an excuse for me.  I though she looked pretty.  She really has very nice hair.  I liked it.  I like her a lot and well, it takes just only the tiniest of nudge for me to post Charli.  So here she is leaving the BBC and other things.  And at stuff.  It’s a theme, the theme being she is in all the pictures.  Today I want to fuck Charli XCX.

I guess Game of Thrones is coming back.  I am honestly not all that excited but I have lots of reasons for that, including the fact that I only watched the series because everyone badgered me into it and I don’t think it is quite as profound and high brow as a lot of people do.  I tend to, in general, consider a lot of what HBO does as just porn for people who are too uptight to watch porn.  You make some fancy sets, you give everyone a British accent and then you let people pretend they are pursuing something high minded when they really are just here for tits and blood.  I guess I feel like when I watch a slasher movie it is much more honest about why it exists.  Anyway, the show has it’s benefits but it strikes me as lacking in nuance the further it gets away from the books so part of me is worried about this season.  We’ll see though.  The season approaching has resulted in a lot of Sophie Turner in the past few weeks, mainly in magazines but now at the premier and her appearance there is like the show.  Hey, she’s pretty, she is cute messing around on the red carpet, but man that dress is ugly.  But I’ll do what people watching the show do, which is choose to look at it from an angle that lets me ignore the less than desirably parts.  It’s not a bad dress from the back.  And she is still pretty.  Hey, sorry I dumped on your show Game of Thrones fans.  I didn’t sleep well and let’s be honest, winter is taking fucking forever.  Today I want to fuck Sophie Turner.

So Nastia Liukin was at some awards show that had something to do with sports, which makes sense, when she does show up on the red carpet it is usually at least sports adjacent.  I am always glad to see her because I like her and it’s rare for her to show up.  I guess I am glad she is still… I am not sure what the word is.  That life is still affording her certain opportunities.  Like I know she was part of NBC’s coverage of the Olympics and I hope that continues just because she seems like a pretty decent person and also because I hate the way society often spits out Olympic Athletes.  We all struggle with getting older and opportunities passing us by and just there being fewer options but it has always stuck me as especially cruel to the high level athlete, who is old before the rest of us, none more so than female gymnasts.  I have gone down this territory a very long time ago, when Nastia’s shoulder did her in and she missed the cut to make the team at the old age of 19.  It seems like a cruel fate and I remember at some point later that year when I posted her someone reblogged with comments about how pathetic she was for trying to hang on to fame and she should just give up.  It struck me as exceptionally mean spirited to tell a girl of 20 to just pack it in and give up on life.  I get that sometimes we are tired of seeing certain people in the public eye but everyone needs to work.  I am reminded of Patrick Stewart recalling how angry he got when people were implying Star Trek was beneath him when he first started on the show.  Reporters I mean in interviews.  They thought they were sympathizing with them but it angered him and his whole point was what do they expect?  He has to work.  He had a family.  He also said no work is beneath you unless you make it so, you can give your all to anything an elevate it.  That takes us a bit far afield.  My point is a young woman who has spent her entire life doing a thing and then she suddenly can’t anymore before she’s 20, I applaud her for trying to find something else.  We all do a lot of searching and trying to find what to do.  I guess I don’t understand begrudging people that. Especially because I can think of have been chewed up and spit out when they became “washed up” at 19.  So I think part of this is just that I am always pleased to see her doing stuff, it’s a reminder that hey, things are ok.  I am glad.  I mean, she represented my country.  I’ll be honest, I am prouder of the way Olympic athletes have represented my country than a lot of people who represent us.  Also she’s very pretty.  Today I want to fuck Nastia Liukin

So Demi Lovato has a new video out I guess?  It’s in promotion of Amazon’s Prime Day, which is a thing I am aware of because Christ Amazon isn’t shy about advertising it.  The world of music is such a strange landscape here in the future.  When I was a kid you would have pilloried someone, even a popstar, for releasing their new single in promotion of a sale.  Now it’s just one of the few ways to make real money with music.  Lord, what have we done? Anyway, I haven’t actually seen or heard it or anything, so I can’t comment on the music.  I have however seen promotional images and I can confirm that Demi Lovato is ridiculously beautiful.  Also apparently it is about how she’s in a good place in her life and good for her.  Also, the visual evidence backs that up because she has just looked amazing recently.  And continues to.  Good for her again.  Today I want to fuck Demi Lovato.

So Karen Gillan was in a magazine called Glass Magazine and I for one think this is a fantastic idea.  I don’t mean a magazine about glass, or well, it might be about something else but the title only gives me so many clues, but rather putting Karen Gillan in your magazine.  Sometimes I wonder why celebrities so often show up in photoshoots for magazines I have never heard of because I wonder how these magazines stay afloat.  Print is dead and I hear all the major publications are struggling, so how does Glass Magazine pay the bills?  I don’t know, is it a Scottish thing?  I know I have at least one follower who lives in Scotland.  Tell me about Scottish Glass culture.  Make it up if you have to, just make it believable.  Luckily that won’t be hard because all Americans know about Scotland is Braveheart and the Loch Ness Monster or if we’re really well educated we know Haggis is a thing.  Most people don’t know what it is but they know they think it’s gross.  What I am saying is there is a lot of room for you to make up a story about Karen Gillan and glass blowing and the fabled Alban Glass Mines of Donald II.  Trust me, I won’t actually look it up to see if it’s true.  I mean, I am inclined to look fondly on whatever you tell me about the place because I know Karen Gillan is Scottish so I just assume the place has a lot of great things going on if you could afford to let her go.  It must be some sort of paradise.  Anyway, she looked great, she is great, more strange magazines with her in it please!  Today I want to fuck Karen Gillan.

This weekend has been unkind to me sleep wise.  The past two nights I have done that thing where I am just dead tired and I go to bed early only to wake up an hour later unable to get back to sleep, so I get up and watch cartoons streaming from some site (as all adults are want to do at 1 AM) before going back to bed, only to wake up an hour later and repeat the cycle.  So I am just… in a strange place and in all honesty I was going to post someone else today but in my search for pictures I got angry about the lack of pictures, which made me turn on the girl as if it were her fault and I no longer had any desire to post her.  It’s a whole batch of stupid but probably a secret blessing because it is letting me post Gigi Hadid, who I have been like, “Oh man, she looks good here, I should post her” after I have already posted for the day like 5 times in the past few weeks.  It just happens sometimes.  And you know, to her credit, I have never gotten annoyed because there is a lack of decent pictures of Gigi Hadid.  She has never caused me that problem.  So here she is because she’s hot and she looks really good in these pictures and boy was it easy to find decent pictures.  Today I want to fuck Gigi Hadid.

So apparently Alexis Ren was in Maxim and… I didn’t know Maxim was still a thing.  That’s not me trying to slag on Maxim, I just had in my mind somewhere that the last 3-4 years saw every magazine like that close shop because they just can’t compete with… I guess Instagram?  I mean, the internet in general but like I don’t think anyone really got Maxim for the articles and it isn’t that hard to find hot girls and more specifically hot celebrities looking hot thanks to social media.  Also, if you want kind of douchey advice on how to trick women into bed or whatever the internet definitely has you covered there.  Just search red pill or mystery method or whatever brand new thing there is out there that imagines women as a puzzle to be solved rather than human beings to interact with. Sorry, that’s a tangent.  I didn’t know it was a thing and it probably says something about the power of the internet that she is now on the cover of Maxim with the it boldly proclaiming her a social media star when Instagram Model is a dismissive thing I have seen hurled her way event his year.  There is a lot there to make me roll my eyes, including the idea that a working model who used social media to get famous is somehow less a real model than… someone who fame just shows up for?  I am not sure what the other angle there is.  It’s kind of easy to shit on stuff I guess.  Like I did on dudes who think manipulation is the key to love.  I am guilty of it too.  Sorry guys, that was a low blow.  Anyway, it turns out she looked really good in the Maxim shoot so good for her.  I ended up mainly posting her in bikinis though because I am deeply lazy and pictures of her in bikinis are everywhere.  Today I want to fuck Alexis Ren.

Independent of each other, two people have brought up Fan Bingbing in the past 24 hours with me and the general theme is that she is essentially the most beautiful woman in the world. While I am not the sort of person to believe you can quantify and rank that kind of thing I am also can’t possibly think of a valid argument against this.  Like, if you were to decide that’s the hill you wanted to die on, there is nothing I could say to prove you false.  Or um… I guess I should say if that’s the hill you choose to die on you could possibly live forever.  Wow, is Fan Bingbing the key to immortality?  Jesus, she can do anything.  Anyway, @wildflagsure was pointing out how gorgeous she was and then I woke up to messages about how gorgeous she is from @femalecelebrityoftheday and these were kind of out of nowhere.  Mostly.  The point being that she is so beautiful you just feel compelled to tell someone I guess.  I am telling you guys. Charli XCX was at the Warner Music party yesterday and I think she looked lovely.  It was a pretty simple block top and pants but I liked it.  She looked good.  I like her a lot.  Now, I am sure someone is aware Charli is with Atlantic but not aware of how the music industry works and wonders why she was at the Warners Music Party.   Welcome to why Pop music isn’t very inventive and why even good artists are herded into a type.  Atlantic Records, one of the legendary labels in all of music is owned by Atlantic Records Group, which owns dozens of labels, many of which were once independent.  Atlantic Records Group is owned by Warner Music Group, which owns thousands of labels, many of which used to be independent of each other.  The record industry, is by and large, owned part and parcel by a small handful of companies.  The result isn’t just creative stifling but a lack of innovation, a slowness to adapt, and a result that means basically musicians make very little money from records anymore, that all goes to the label, and instead make all their money touring.  Which is why I can’t wait for the dinosaurs that are the monolith record companies to finally die.  It won’t really hurt the artists but it might free them.  I know I have low key bitched a lot about labels in recent Charli posts, and you know, part of that is just that I grew up as a punk kid so I have a natural hatred of them anyway, but you know, I’m kind of bitter about the delays of Charli’s album.  Because they of course want her to just keep making the same song.  Something she has always refused to do and according to rumors has gotten her a lot of grief.  In that like, when she wanted to release a free mix tape they stuck their grubby little fingers in that even to really sour it all.  Who knows, I may not like the new album but I do know it will take her in a new direction because that is basically what she does.  I’d like the chance to hear it and to be honest I don’t care what the Warner Monolith thinks of it. Anyway, on top of my anger at her label, she looked great.  Her I adore.  Today I want to fuck Charli XCX.
