Jessica Chastain was at the MTV Movie Awards last night and thank god!  I felt a little cheated when she wasn’t at the Oscars because I am not even sure what the point of having an awards show is if she isn’t there.  To some people that might sound silly but to those people I ask, “Why are you on this blog?  Are you new here?”  I would watch Jessica Chastain read a phonebook because I am convinced it would be compelling and somehow she would create a fascinating, layered character in the process.  So I am glad she was there.  I want to say that it was a tough decision today because lots of people looked good but I’d be lying.  There are lots of people who would have been posted on a normal day but I woke up to gifs of Jessica Chastain smiling on the red carpet so none of them stood a chance.  I was at the movies this week and the trailer for something came up and she was in it and I don’t remember the movie cause it honestly looked kind of lame to me but I leaned over and told my friend I will probably see it cause I’ll see anything with Jessica Chastain.  The answer was, “Yeah, I know.  We all know”.  Cause yeah, I love Jessica Chastain.  So here she is because Jessica Chastain is amazing.  Today I want to fuck Jessica Chastain.

Jessica Chastain was at the Independent Spirit Awards last night and thank god!  I feel like I have been a little cheated this Chastain Season because she skipped over a lot of the awards stuff on account of being out of the country and working on movies like some sort of actress or something.  It’s one of those mixed feelings thing because in the right now I just want more picture of her on the red carpet because she is beautiful and elegant and I want to see what she decides to wear.  But long term I know what I really want are more movies with Jessica Chastain because she is a remarkably gifted actress and like all great artists every work of theirs is a gift.  Still… kinda wanted her showing up in pretty gowns.  I am glad she’s in town though because I was worried she might not be at the Oscars.  I just didn’t want to know how you could have the Oscars without her.  I mean, I know they did it for like 80 years that way but never again if I have my way.  So she should be there, which means I am fully willing to admit she might get posted again tomorrow because… well, who knows what the red carpet will bring tonight.  I included an after party pic from last year’s Oscars though just… cause?  It made sense when I chose it.  I am looking forward to the Oscars though because I happen to enjoy it, and not just in the let’s bitch about it way.  I could watch people win the minor awards all day, it’s nice to see someone have a truly great day.  They look so happy.  Anyway, here is Jessica Chastain because she is magnificent.  Today I want to fuck Jessica Chastain.

I watched the Martian last night and it was ok.  I mean I liked it but it didn’t strike me as all that special.  Maybe it’s just early and I am being negative.  It was mainly a Matt Damon solo piece so you might be wondering how I managed to get Jessica Chastain here but it doesn’t take a lot of Jessica Chastain for me to want to post her. She was in it, she was good in her small role.  I just like having excuses to post her honestly because she’s great. I am still on a crummy keyboard so I won’t elaborate further because I keep having to go back and correct stuff.  My shift key doesn’t work have the time and I talk about myself a lot.  All those lower case I’s are killing me.  Today I want to fuck Jessica Chastain.

Here is Jessica Chastain.  Again.  I know it’s just been a couple of days but I saw Crimson Peak finally so this was inevitable.  The movie was… flawed but interesting.  It was a lot of what I’d expect from Guillermo del Toro in that it was beautiful to look at, the set design was amazing, and it was atmospheric.  It also was very slight.  The acting was very good across the board though.  It is a good example of why an attempt to make art can still be worthwhile even when it fails.  It was not a good enough movie for me to recommend or something I see myself seeking out on purpose later but at the same time it had so many elements that were good that I don’t regret it.  There are still things to enjoy and think about.  Jessica Chastain is one of those, she was good as always.  It wasn’t her most complex character but again she is so compelling to watch.  And spoilers, she is evil, which I will be honest if you didn’t know after five minutes you probably haven’t seen a movie before, but it turns out evil Jessica Chastain is an extremely hot Jessica Chastain.  I turns out I really enjoy her stabbing people or shoving women over railings.  Anyway, it was obvious she’d be here because she is great and I adore her.  Today I want to fuck Jessica Chastain.

Last week at one point I was going to post Jessica Chastain and I had all these thoughts about genre film making and roles for women and what that had to do with her is the fact that she has talked about how things like horror provide much more interesting and varied roles for women than more “respectable” genres do.  But I don’t really remember what I was going to say about it at this point other than I had thoughts about it.  That post also didn’t happen.  Then I used the holidays to completely revamp my collection of media and that brought a bunch of movies of hers to the forefront and then just a couple of days ago some pictures of her related to A Most Violent Year were tagged for me by @thunderstormofoblivion.  And that had me thinking about how often a movie is elevated by her performance and I had thoughts about that.  I don’t remember those either.  It’s been a tiring few days.  So Jessica Chastain is here today really because she has been in the back of my mind for a while and because I think she is amazing.  She is just great and I am a huge fan.  So here she is.  Today I want to fuck Jessica Chastain.

So I finally got around to reading Jessica Chastain’s piece about women in Film that set people abuzz earlier in the week.  I immediately added it to my read later pile but that pile grows faster than I can make it shrink.  I have a problem.  It should come as a surprise to no one that the piece somehow managed to surprise some people that it turns out maybe women have things just the tiniest bit harder than men.  Shocking.  Well, I will admit, some things are shocking, like she said this is the largest female crew she has ever been apart of in her current movie and that crew is 20% female.  20%.  Now, I don’t want to go into a long thing about the hypocrisy of Hollywood liberalism when it comes to the treatment of women and minorities because I kind of assume no one would read it and if you are really interested you can send me a message, I will just say it is important and I feel like Jessica Chastain has been talking about this forever.  When her star suddenly rocketed upwards a few years ago she was coy about her age.  Not because it’s improper for a lady to discuss that but because she was open about if she states her age it limits the film roles she can get.  Which isn’t at all inaccurate, she has long been my dream pick for Captain Marvel.  Every single person I tell that to immediately tells me she is too old.  Sometimes just that.  Sometimes, “oh, she’s be great but she’s too old”.  She is more than a decade younger than some of the men currently playing Marvel Superheroes.  But she’s too old.  I didn’t really start with a point, I just kind of rambled but I think I have arrived at one.  This costs us all.  The inequity in the movie industry hurts us because it limits voices.  Who knows all we might be missing but we’re missing this, we’re missing possible roles for Jessica Chastain because women are kept in a much smaller box.  We should all be upset about that because she is a supremely talented actor.  She is my favorite actor and I will see her in anything but man I would love to see her in something I have wanted to see since I was a kid.  So we lose out on things like that.  It’s a crime.  The world needs more Jessica Chastain, not less.  Because she is ridiculously talented and smart.  And yeah, she’s beautiful and I do have to end this at some point so today I want to fuck Jessica Chastain.

So the bad news is I probably will not be able to see Crimson Peak this weekend.  It just doesn’t appear to be in the cards.  Now, I realize that there could be worse words and a lot of you are thinking, “This doesn’t matter to me at all so it isn’t really bad news for me”.  To you I would ask, how have you been following me for so long and not understood this is all about me?  Anyway, the good news is with Crimson Peak out Jessica Chastain has been everywhere.  I am very happy about this because seeing Jessica Chastain makes me happy.  I am looking forward to a nice long Chastain season this year.  Today I want to fuck Jessica Chastain.

It appears that Jessica Chastain season is starting early this year.  I am 100% fine with this if you are curious.  Usually I have to wait for a mix of awards shows and late season awards bait releases to really get to peak Chastain.  Of course, this isn’t necessarily peak, it could get a lot better.  But with the Martian being promoted everywhere she is showing up a lot and after that we’ll get Crimson Peak in just a few weeks which I hope takes us through October.  From there I just hope people start handing out statues and trophies and whatever and we can just see Jessica Chastain through the Oscars.  This would be like a 6 month Chastain season, so it might be wishful thinking but I fully endorse it if the world wants to make it happen.  I am also going to see the Martian because it looks pretty good.  Ditto Crimson Peak.  Not that this is surprising because I see almost anything with Jessica Chastain in it on account of her amazingness.  Today I want to fuck Jessica Chastain.

There are some days or even weeks where there is just not a lot going on in the celebrity world.  This often happens in the summer, no new TV shows, no big events, just maybe a few big movie releases but for the most part it is pretty empty.  It means some days I am not that inspired to post anyone.  Someone always eventually comes to mind but it isn’t like anyone is jumping out.  Then there are times when the opposite is true.  It’s Fashion Week in New York, TIFF is happening, and there is just a slew of other stuff, including of course the catalog work coming out for the Fall/Winter stuff.  So today there were like 10 people at least I was tempted to post.  A big battle in my brain and heart.  Jessica Chastain won because I love Jessica Chastain.  I mean, she looked good at TIFF so far but it isn’t really about how she looked.  She is gorgeous but the simple truth is she is such an amazing artist I cannot escape the pull of her magnetism.  Her work is so amazing that I see her and I think about it and I get excited about movies she has coming out.  It’s not that I never get excited about movies coming out but there are very few people whose work I get excited about simply because it is their work.  She has a few things coming out that are on my must see list but then I realized almost anything she does is on my must see list just so I can see her.  She is my favorite actor.  She is so gifted and even in movies that aren’t great there is so much to get from her work.  It’s always worth my time.  So she’s here today.  She beat everyone by being Jessica Chastain.  I love her.  Today I want to fuck Jessica Chastain.

Sometimes Hollywood makes a thing and you feel like maybe they very specifically made it just for you.  Lord knows it couldn’t be for anyone else.  I am a fan of Gothic horror.  I think I have made it known here that I adore Hammer Horror which was really the last great swell of Gothic horror on the screen.  I also happen to love Guillermo Del Toro, which is not surprising because if you hear him talk about stuff his interests and my interests intersect pretty heavily.  We are the same kind of nerd.  And of course, Jessica Chastain is probably my favorite working actor.  So when I heard that Crimson Peak was going to be a Gothic Horror Film directed by Guillermo Del Toro and staring Jessica Chastain I did have to wonder if it was for anyone else.  Not that those things don’t have their fans but it felt so specifically for me it feels a little bit like they are just making me a gift. But then, I feel that way about a lot of Jessica Chastain films, they always feel like a little present for me.  Of course, I haven’t seen her in anything recently but she was at comic con and she is gorgeous and… she is just great.  Today I want to fuck Jessica Chastain.
